Western Australia's emerging truffle industry has grown rapidly over the past five years, trebling production to become the second-largest producer of the black truffle behind Europe.
The epicentre of the state's truffle industry lies on the outskirts of the old timber milling town of Manjimup, 300km south of Perth.
The farm gate value of the industry has trebled since 2011 to $8.5 million after dozens of producers jumped on board.
